J'ai dévoré ces 512 pages sans voir le temps passer! J'avais beaucoup aimé A Darker Shade of Magic, mais ce deuxième tome était juste époustouflant! Victoria Schwab a un don pour créer des univers magnifiques et des personnages exquis. Croyez-moi, quand vous aurez goûté à cette série, vous ne pourrez plus vous en passer.Dans A Gathering of Shadows, on laisse un peu de côté l'intrigue principale pour se concentrer sur l'Element Game et le devenir des personnages. Les premiers chapitres débutent par l'histoire de Lila - membre d'un équipage pirate qui travaille pour le compte de la couronne. Elle se fait passer pour un garçon, et j'ai juste adoré ses interactions avec le reste de l'équipage, surtout celles avec Alucard Emery. Lila me fait toujours rire avec ses répliques piquantes et son humour noir, mais ce qui m'a plu chez ce personnage c'était son entêtement et le fait qu'elle tient toujours parole. Disons que quand elle fait des menaces, c'est pas pour brasser de l'air!! *Yay*On fait la connaissance d'un nouveau protagoniste - Alucard. Capitaine intelligent, drôle, mystérieux, j'ai tout de suite aimé Lulu!! Il parle la langue royale mais pourtant il a choisi la piraterie. Woo. Son talent de performeur fait qu'on ne sait pas quelle facette du personnage est la plus authentique. On découvre un peu son passé et ses origines, mais non de dieu qu'est-ce que j'ai aimé les scènes entre Alucard et Rhy!!!!!Quant à Kell et Rhy, ils ont quelque chose de changé même s'il y a toujours cette complicité, ce lien de fraternité. Rhy éprouvait de la jalousie par rapport à l'aisance avec laquelle Kell parvenait à manipuler la magie alors que lui-même n'y arrivait pas. A présent, chacun des deux frères peut ressentir ce que l'autre éprouve: colère, enfermement, tristesse, dépression... La vie de Rhy dépend de Kell, du coup Kell est limite séquestré par la famille royale qui veut protéger leur enfant. Kell le vit mal, et du coup Rhy aussi - sans compter que Rhy a dû mal à se faire à l'idée que sa vie n'est plus vraiment la sienne. Pendant ce temps, Kell doit également supporter le regard des autres et le nouveau traitement infligé par la famille royale qui le tient pour seul responsable de ce qui est arrivé à Red London...En ce qui concerne le tournoi des magiciens, c'était super fun! Comme vous pouvez vous en douter, Kell et Lila font partie du lot - mais Alucard aussi. Chaque magicien participant à la compétition arrive masqué: Kell devient Kamerov alors que Lila devient Stasion. J'aime trop ces personnages, l'utilisation de la magie, et tout, et tout! Les personnages pourraient se curer le nez, j'aurais autant de plaisir à suivre cette série. Bref, j'ai pas pu m'arrêter de lire cette merveille!Et cette fin? ARGHHH
